The Tirolean trinity? Hike, Eat, Repeat – or in plain English: walk, snack, walk some more… and finish with ‘Kasspatzln’ (soft egg noodles, mountain cheese and crispy onions) and ‘Kaiserschmarrn’ (traditional shredded pancake with raisins and icing sugar). Before you all head to the hut together, mountain guides from Kitzbühel/Tirol will take you along the Havel Heights Trail and show you what really matters in alpine hiking. After all, you need to know how to reach the hut with the Kaiserschmarrn safely. A packed snack, fabulous views and peaceful woodland scenery are, of course, all included. And who knows – you might acquire a taste for it and choose Kitzbühel for your next hike.
That’s where today’s mountain guide comes from. And no, the people of Kitzbühel are not black-hearted – they simply have the Schwarzsee (Black Lake). It really is so dark that the surface acts like a mirror… provided you’re not busy making waves.
